About This Timepiece

The NJ0180-80M impresses with its coloured dial and the unique combination of super titanium and mechanical movement. The watch combines style and functionality in an impressive way. The case and strap are made of super titanium. The sporty watch is equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire glass, screwed case back and glass base. A special feature of this Super Titanium model is the automatic movement and the decentralized second between "4 and 5 o'clock" - also known as "small second". Since 1970, Citizen Titanium has been using titanium for the production of watches, which is a rare raw material. Thanks to the outstanding properties, watches made of super titanium are particularly durable. The Super Titanium used by Citizen is created by the use of the raw material pure titanium and the Citizen in-house surface hardening technology (Duratect). As a result, the surface hardness is five times compared to stainless steel. Super Titanium is therefore resistant to scratches, also 40 percent lighter than stainless steel, anti-allergic (hypoallergenic) and corrosion resistant. Due to its exceptional properties, Super Titanium is used by Citizen in the Japanese space industry.
